Limited Warranty
We have proven that these blades are dynamic instruments that work exceptionally well within the context of basic target practice on various types of straw and grass type target mats. While these instruments are 'conditionally guaranteed' to be free of defects pertaining to reasonable and normal use under the rigors of basic target cutting practice, you must remember that target practice is a potentially dangerous activity that should only be conducted under the supervision of a qualified instructor.
Each sword has been inspected to be free from factory defects including but not limited to; the fit of the handle, handle wrap material and associated furniture, as well as any cosmetic flaw in the blade itself. Remember that each blade is a unique work of art. As with any custom instrument, certain manufacturing lines, shape peculiarities and handwork irregularities are what make each instrument unique. Each swords balance, weight, profiling line and every piece of furniture make each one of these 'working swords', a unique work of practical art, designed for a very specific purpose. Using this instrument outside or beyond the natural limitations of basic target practice and a person's physical or technical limitations may result in a breadown of the instruments structural integrity due to abnormal stresses exerted on them during the act of target cutting practice.
ALWAYS USE CONSERVATIVE JUDGEMENT WHEN APPROACHING ANY TARGET CUTTING EXCERCISE.
Determining factors for replacement are subject to the warranty inspection by our sword professionals who have over 60 years of cumulative experience in target practice sessions amounting to over 100,000 target cuts* (*approximate figures based on over 20,000 targets with an average of five cuts per target on various types of cutting material in the past 30 years). Any blade whose handle foundation, handle wrap material or fittings that is determined to have been tampered with in any way or any blade that has been improperly sharpened will make void this limited warranty in its entirety. These blades and swords are made available to you by sword professionals that understand what swords are capable of under the rigors of normal use.
REMEMBER: any blade can be bent or even broken under the right conditions whose source may be as simple as poor technique. Always approach this sort of practice with the utmost safety protocol, attention to detail and common sense. Never use these instruments beyond the limitations of your technical ability or on single targets whose composition is harder than the density of official United States Sword Federation "Approved" target material. This approved target material is 'omote' provided by the Mugen Dachi company (see link for ordering details).
